Running every road....

Pete and I are running every road on the island of Jersey. It's a goal, Pete's idea, and fabulous I think. There are about 550 miles of them. So far, we have done about 10 miles of them in one week. And we want to complete this goal before June of this year. So we need to run more. And faster.

Today we ran and it was like heaven. You see more when you're running than driving, or even cycling. The light was golden over the land of St Martins, the fields the deepest green, the granite pink, and the tiny crystals within it sparkled. I couldn't believe how happy it made me feel. Sometimes we talked, through the panting. Sometimes we just ran. I'm not very fit at present, but it still just feels good to be out and exploring. Today, we saw the most incredible little boat house tucked in next to a tiny tranquail lake. There were glass windows all the way around it, it was white and light blue wood, two floors, and just a picture of peace. It made me want to paint and read poetry and sit inside it eating delicious nibbles with people I love.

I am loving this beautiful island.
